FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Fearless Nation PTSD Support, the only non-profit dedicated to supporting worldwide trauma victims from all walks of life, has launched three new online weekly discussion groups focusing on self-care and health.

The discussion groups will be held online at Fearless Nation's virtual reality retreat in Second Life, the 3D social media website. Parallel discussions will also be held on Fearless Nation's blog and Facebook group.

"These peer-led discussions focus on the present, not the past," said Colleen Crary, M.A., founder and Executive Director of Fearless Nation PTSD Support. "We will be discussing self-care and health and include important and timely educational, psychological and consumer information to help people who are recovering from trauma to enhance their path toward healing."

Launching Monday, July 11, three weekly Fearless Nation PTSD Support group discussions are:

The Empower Group (Mondays, 11am PST, 7pm GMT). Meetings start with a brief introduction to a PTSD topic, followed by peer-led discussion, Q & A, demonstrations, proven strategies and techniques for controlling PTS symptoms and challenges--and everyone will get a packet of information to take with them.

Peer-Led Discussions (Tuesdays, 6pm PST, 2am GMT). Discussions are open to all people with PTSD, their families, spouses and friends. You are invited to discuss, share your views, experiences, lend support or just listen in.

Addiction Recovery (Wednesday, 12pm PST, 8pm GMT). These meetings will address substance abuse and addiction, including peer support and education on coping with addiction issues.

"All of our meetings are based on the latest research in group dynamics," said Crary. "They are not 12-step programs, and will not feature public confessions or focus on past events. They will instead focus on the present and can serve as a supplement for the work our members are doing with their therapists, counselors and doctors."
